Risk is one of the first board games about world dominance, and it laid the path for subsequent games and video games such as State IO. The game presents you with a map of a specific section of the planet, as any overseer would. With your contacts, you've managed to station some of your men in a specific area, while others nearby are ripe for capture. The problem is that you are not the only dictator who is determined to take over; therefore, competition is fierce. To gain control of the country, you must strike a balance between attack and defense!

You can reduce dividing and conquering games to fundamental numbers and patterns for a more concise experience. This game accomplishes this while remaining interactive enough to keep you interested. While you're concentrating on strategy and planning your next move, you don't require much visual stimulation. Your enemies will continue to attack, but waiting isn't always the best course of action because if you don't join the race, you'll quickly fall behind. The long game is not an option here, which results in faster gameplay.

How to Play State IO.

State IO is a 2D top-down strategy game in which players attempt to conquer all territories in a specific region of the planet using just their mouse. To pick your units, point the mouse to a territory center under your control and click the left mouse button. To direct them to another territory center, hold down the left mouse button and drag them in that direction. At that point, all of the units in the territory will mobilize and assault any opponents they come across. The goal is to gain control over all of the territories in the area.

When the level begins, you will have control of one area on the map. As time passes, your area (and others) will generate units. To conquer another territory, move units from one to its center. If your army outnumbers the other army, you will take power. Gray territories are neutral and will not attack; however, territories of other colors will and are attempting to take control. If armies cross paths while advancing, they will weaken each other's strength. You either conquer all the regions or face elimination to end the level.

Each victory earns you money, and consecutive triumphs can result in further benefits. You can spend the money on the main menu to increase the production speed of your starting units.

Tips & Tricks

Your initial territory should serve as your major base, and you should rapidly construct fortifications around it by capturing surrounding territories. This may initially limit your resources, but over time, it will enable you to amass more. As you expand, your base will produce a large number of units that you may utilize to quickly take over stronger regions.
